Built
in 1908,
the
Morrison Hotel has been the cornerstone of services to disabled
homeless adults in Seattle for over a quarter of a century. The Morrison provides:
- The largest
emergency shelter in the region serving homeless men and women with
major
mental disorders, physical and developmental disabilities, severe
addictive illnesses and other
significant vulnerabilities;
- 190 apartments with
supportive services for homeless adults with serious disabilities;
- State-licensed
mental health and chemical dependency treatment services;
- DESC administrative
offices.
"The Morrison is an integral part of the Ten-Year Plan
for the City of Seattle to end homelessness in King
County, and a shining example for the rest of the
country about what a program can actually accomplish."
- Washington Governor, Christine Gregoire
