SAGE
Support, Advocacy, Growth
and Employment
SAGE is DESC's comprehensive
outpatient mental health program. SAGE case
managers, psychiatrists and nurses work with men and women (18 years
and older) --many of
whom are or have been homeless-- assisting them in their journey towards
recovery. This includes help obtaining and maintaining
housing, improving clinical and social stability, and enriching their
level
of independence and self-sufficiency.
SAGE services are licensed under the Washington
State Mental Health Division and are provided under contract with King
County Mental Health, Chemical Abuse & Dependency Services
Division. Services are provided within a
Recovery model.
Services

Services are provided in our offices, at
client homes, and elsewhere in the county such as shelters, hospitals,
jails and wherever else clients' lives take them. Services include:
- Case management
- Psychiatric services
- Counseling
- Representative Payee services, for some clients
- English and Spanish languages spoken; other
interpreters are available
- Assistance in obtaining employment or referral
to vocational service programs
Eligibility criteria
- Adults, age 18+
- Living in King County
- Must have Medicaid or be able to pay
independently
- Living with a mental illness and meet King
County eligibility criteria
- Must voluntarily accept services or be on a
Least Restrictive Alternative
Seeking SAGE services?
Anyone may make a referral by
contacting our SAGE Intake Specialists. Our intake staff can :
- answer questions
about SAGE services,
- screen for eligibility,
- schedule intake appointments,
- assess for immediate needs, and
- make referrals to other necessary resources,
within DESC or in the broader community.
