Affordable Clothing: Something Old Something New is stocked entirely by donated goods, primarily for the benefit of our clients and other low income residents of downtown Seattle. We seek to maintain a supply of durable clothing and shoes.

Household Goods: DESC provides affordable stable housing with wraparound services for nearly 600 formerly homeless men and women. Many of these individuals are establishing a home for the first time in years, often without the most basic items — bedding, pots and pans, dishware, cooking utensils. Something Old Something New is a useful resource for these individuals.

All Shoppers Welcome: At Something Old Something New who knows what treasures you will find among the books, record albums, clothing and decorative items. Stop by on your way home or on your lunch hour.

Job Skills Training: The store also functions as a pre-vocational rehabilitation program for a handful of clients enrolled in other DESC programs. Clients gain on-site vocational experience as volunteers or as formal trainees. Clients involved in this program receive valuable training to enhance their basic job skills and prepare them for other retail employment.
