Why DESC?

At its core, DESC builds supportive programs and housing with our community’s most vulnerable members at the center.

Our clients have lived difficult lives, many surviving with a combination of mental conditions, physical disabilities, and substance use disorders, conditions only exacerbated by chronic homelessness. Despite being rejected by most other systems of care, the people we serve are resilient and adaptable. When given the chance through permanent supportive housing and unconditional, comprehensive healthcare, we know that every person can stabilize and start anew.

This is why DESC emphasizes housing FIRST – with the stability of a home, every aspect of one’s life can improve! Housing is just the beginning – our wraparound services and dedicated staff ensure that residents have continued support with everyday challenges and long-term goals.

DESC is building a future where no person is ignored, abandoned, or left unhoused.
