In loving memory of Amelia Canaday, we invite you to make a gift to DESC in tribute to her legacy of compassion and commitment to our community.
Amelia’s legacy lives on through Canaday House, a DESC housing project named in honor of both Amelia and Nicholas Canaday, two longtime volunteers and DESC advocates.
Opened in 2010, Canaday House was created to serve 83 chronically homeless individuals with high needs, providing them with permanent supportive housing, 24-hour staffing, and on-site intensive case management and nursing services. Twenty-five units are set aside for tenants who are also veterans.
