Office of Housing awards funding for Lake City PSH

SEATTLE, Wash. (Feb. 7, 2024)–The Seattle Office of Housing announced funding awards for affordable housing, anti-displacement and energy efficiency at the Annual Housing Celebration at El Centro de la Raza today, and DESC Lake City is one of four rental projects to be awarded funding.

The project will provide 120 apartments with wrap-around services for adults living with disabilities and experiencing long-term homelessness. The city is awarding a total of $53.3 million for the four rental projects, which together will add 443 homes for low income families and individuals, including seniors. Burien advisory committee meetings now open to public

The next open meeting of the DESC Burien Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is on April 16, 5-6:30 p.m., at the Burien Library. (This meeting was moved due to a conflict for several members.)

The CAC invites the public to attend and observe committee discussions. Each meeting will include a set time for the public to ask questions and hear answers. The CAC is committed to transparency and community involvement and to fostering meaningful discussions.

Gimme Shelter was amazing!

Thank you to everyone who came to DESC’s 15th Annual Gimme Shelter Concert featuring the Dusty 45s live, it was a blast. Thank you so much for your support of our mission and your generous donations. On Oct. 20, Billy Joe Huels and the band topped $1 million raised in their 15 straight years of playing this event! Thank you, Billy Joe!
