How you can help DESC respond to COVID-19 (coronavirus)


We are always in need of donations – in addition to our usual expenses, we’ve seen exponential increases in costs for personal protective equipment, cleaning supplies, and other resources related to our COVID-19 response. We’ve also increased our daily meal program by about 3,000 meals in less than a week to promote physical distancing.

If you can, please donate funds to help cover the myriad costs associated with this unprecedented time.

You can also donate hygiene and survival supplies for our clients. This Amazon Wishlist is a convenient way to purchase them, or reach out to Steven Dillon at if you have some you can donate.

If you can help with masks or cleaning supplies, email Nathan Sawyer at We are most in need of disposable masks, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes. We are asking people with sewing machines to help make homemade masks.

At this time, we are not taking more volunteers.

We’re hiring! In the changing and uncertain job market, our on-call position allows compassionate and dedicated people a chance to earn an income on a short term basis, with opportunity for ongoing employment. Who knows, maybe you’ll even end up finding a new career!

These positions have minimal education requirements, and no social service experience is necessary.
