DESC Announces Grand Opening of 19th Permanent Supportive Housing Site, Clover Place — Where Whole Person Care Feels Like Home

SEATTLE, WA  DESC will celebrate the official grand opening of Clover Place, a new permanent supportive housing community in Seattle’s Woodland neighborhood. Clover Place brings together long-term housing with whole-person supportive services for people exiting chronic homelessness and living with complex health, mental health, and substance use needs.

Clover Place features 95 studio units for single adults living with psychiatric and other chronic health conditions and provides wraparound supportive services, including behavioral health support and connections to community resources. Named in honor of long-time DESC nurse Christina Clover, the building reflects DESC’s commitment to dignity, belonging, and integrated care.

“Clover Place is named in honor of DESC nurse Christina Clover because her work embodied everything this building stands for,” said DESC Executive Director Daniel Malone. “Her compassionate, client-centered approach helped shape DESC’s integrated care model, and this community carries her legacy forward by meeting people where they are and supporting them with dignity, respect, and care.”

Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson, who will attend and speak at the event, underscored the importance of continued investment in permanent supportive housing and partnerships that pair housing with on-site services:

“DESC has long been a national leader in bringing people inside who face the most complex barriers and ensuring they have the support to stay housed,” Wilson said. “Clover Place builds on that work, providing 95 people with a stable home and whole-person services. That’s progress we can measure, and it’s part of our ongoing work ahead. Seattle will keep pushing by opening more housing, expanding proven programs, and partnering with providers like DESC, because housing with services works. It saves lives and makes our whole city stronger.”
