About the STAR Center 

The Stability Through Access and Resources (STAR) Center is a service-rich, non-congregate shelter designed to support adults facing chronic homelessness and complex behavioral health challenges. Located at 619 3rd Avenue, the STAR Center offers a crucial bridge from the streets to care, recovery, and long-term stability.

The STAR Center is designed for: 

  • Adults experiencing chronic homelessness 
  • Individuals living with serious mental health conditions 
  • People facing substance use disorders 

We work closely with outreach teams, crisis responders, and healthcare providers to ensure high-need individuals receive timely support and ongoing care.

Thanks to funding from the City of Seattle and King County via the King County Regional Homelessness Authority, the STAR Center offers much more than just shelter:

  • Substance use disorder treatment 
  • Permanent supportive housing navigation 
  • Enrollment in benefits and essential programs 
  • Referrals to additional community-based resources

  • Safe, private rooms 

Referral Process 

  • Referrals can be submitted using the STAR Center Referral Form.
  • After submitting, you’ll receive a confirmation receipt and next steps. 
  • Accepted clients have up to 3 business days to arrive. 
  • Referrals are reviewed weekly and prioritized based on a vulnerability scoring system
  • Outreach case managers are available to help locate and coordinate with the referred client.
