Support, Advocacy, Growth and Employment (SAGE)
“DESC, that’s where I began to get help. They watched me closely, they had me coming in all the time. The door was always open to me there, they helped put me back together again, and they still continued to put me back together. And once I got housing, I started to be able to reconnect with my family…”
SAGE is DESC’s comprehensive outpatient mental health program for adults (18+) in King County, funded through Medicaid. Our case managers, psychiatrists, and nurses use a client-centered, recovery-focused approach to support people in rebuilding stability, maintaining housing, and increasing independence.
SAGE services are offered at DESC’s Downtown Behavioral Health Clinic and The Clinic at Hobson Place. Case managers are also embedded throughout the community — at DESC permanent supportive housing sites, shelters, hospitals, jails, and other locations where clients live and receive care.
The program is licensed by the Washington State Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery and operates under contract with the King County Behavioral Health and Recovery Division.
